Peep Day

Mrs. Sobin’s elementary school class celebrated Peep Day with a variety of engaging activities that blended fun and learning. The day kicked off with an exciting hands-on science experiment, where students explored the chemical reactions and processes involved in dissolving Peeps® in different liquids, such as water, soda, and vinegar. Next, students dove into jelly bean STEM activities, using the colorful candies to build structures. The students also engaged in a "5 senses" activity, which involved taste-testing various flavors of Peeps®. After sampling, they discussed their sensory experiences and used graphs to record their preferences. This activity was a perfect way to incorporate math and critical thinking into the day’s festivities, as they analyzed which flavor was the class favorite. The highlight of the day was the “Adopt-A-Peep” event, where each student had the chance to select and name their very own Peep, adding a personal touch to the celebration!
