Six students from Coal City Middle School participated in the middle school art show held at the Exhibit Gallery in Morris.
Participating students were—eighth graders Sophia Oswald, Izzy Herrera, Heli Patel and Allyson Shelton. Also participating, seventh grader Kennedy Loughran and sixth grader Sergio Soler Mora.
Allyson Shelton won a first place ribbon for Best Use of Theme [Amazing Animals] and second place overall in eighth grade for a piece titled "Forest Friends." Sergio Soler Mora’s "Sergio's Dream" received second place among sixth grade entries.
Submissions by Kennedy Loughran "Amazing Animals in the Ocean" and Sophia Oswald "The Deep" were named honorable mentions.
The Gallery is open to the public on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the student artwork will be on display through March 8.
