In Mrs. Hall and Ms. O’Donnell’s class, the fifth-grade students have been learning about the Earth’s four systems in science. By watching videos and simulations and making models, they have learned how the hydrosphere, biosphere, atmosphere, and geosphere make up the Earth. Students created a model using clay to understand ways the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere interact.
In reading, the students started 2025 by choosing a word they wanted to make their word goal for the year. A word goal is a word that will help students focus on an area of their life that they want to improve, grow, or do more. Students applied the skills they learned in Second Step to set goals that related to making progress toward their word goal. Some of the words students chose were friendships, focus, organization, and responsibility.
