Ms. Ternes’ fourth and fifth grade general music classes just finished up learning all about their September Composer of the Month - John Williams. The students were excited to learn that John Williams wrote music for the movies “Home Alone,” “Jurassic Park,” “Star Wars,””Indiana Jones,” “Harry Potter,” and more. They were also shocked to find out that he is 92 years old and is still writing music.
The students tapped along to his music with rhythm sticks and worked in groups on a Composer Project. For the project they needed to think of themselves as composers. They decided what movie they would want to compose for, what their music would sound like, and what the title would be. While they worked in their groups, they had John Williams music playing in the background and realized they knew more of his music than they thought!
