New season, new court

The Lady Coaler tennis team hosted Bradley Bourbounnais and showed excitement on their newly finished tennis courts, dispatching BBCHS 5-0.

Rebecca Hall led the charge at #1 singles, winning a close set in a first set tie breaker 7-3 before finding her rhythm and closing out the second set 6-3.  #2 singles, Kyla Kohler won by default after her opponent was unable to compete.  In doubles play, #1 doubles combo Cam Planeta and Bridget Feeney worked through first match ups and downs, losing a first set tie break before winning the second set to force a third set tiebreaker, where they came alive again, driving forehands and volleying to win the tiebreak 10-3.  #2 doubles Lanie Winke and Kyla Stark, first time varsity sophomores, looked sharp in their debut winning straight sets 6-2, 6-3.  Not to be outdone, #3 doubles Kamryn Hansen and Liv Weatherbee took a page from fellow teammate Hall's playbook, winning 7-6 in a first set tiebreak, followed by a strong second set 6-4.  The Coalers hope to carry their momentum into the weekend where they will face tough competition at the LaSalle invite Friday and Saturday.
