Coal City Middle School band members welcomed composer Aaron Perrine into their music room on April 22.
Perrine, of Minnesota, wrote a piece titled “On The Grid,” and it will be performed by the students during their spring concert on Thursday, May 9.
During the visit, students were able to hear Aaron’s musical story and the inspiration behind writing music. They also had an opportunity to ask many questions of the composer.
The spring concert, under the direction of Andrew Brimm, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Coal City Performing Arts Center.
